Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from the 2nd of Vayeira: Regarding your first question about what happened to you and your wife, both you and your wife should each give to charity an amount of twenty-six and two-thirds sela. (You can ask a Kohen how much a sela is in your local currency since pidyon haben is with five selaim.) It is understood that this does not mean giving it all at once; it can be spread out over a month or even longer. There is an advantage in giving multiple times as explained in Igeres HaKodesh by Rabbeinu HaZaken on Pirush HaMishnah: "and everything according to the multitude of deeds" (Igeres HaKodesh ch. 21). Regarding forty meals—it is understood they do not have to be consecutive day after day; rather, they can be spread out over several weeks. The meal should be delayed by about twenty minutes. It is proper for your heart to trust in Hashem that you will be able to continue serving Him with joy. It is well known that serving Hashem applies "in all your ways," as explained at length in Rambam Hilchos Deos ch. 3 and Tur Orach Chaim and Shulchan Aruch siman 231.

Regarding the tzt"z's halachic ruling that if according to the doctor's opinion there is danger for the woman, it is permitted to use a mokh: it is understood that my agreement is not needed here. Since the doctor's opinion is as above—that it harms her health—it is permitted to do so.

As for what you wrote about purchasing certain devices for this purpose and writing their name in English—here we do not know their nature. The point is that this should not change anything for the husband. Therefore, if it is something like a covering or similar, it should not be placed G‑d forbid on the organ but inserted into the womb.

I take this opportunity again to remind you how essential it is for you to have a fixed time every day—even if only for a few moments—to study the inner dimension of Torah as revealed and explained in Chassidus in our generation. None of us knows; perhaps all of the above hints further at how necessary this study is for you personally—and further elaboration would be superfluous.

Brachah for good news as above.
