Greetings and blessing!

...Your letter of 11 MarCheshvan was received. And to come to the present matter: since we are entering the month of redemption, plans must be drawn up in good time for how to make use of the auspicious days of the holy Shabbos and Sunday, the luminous day of Yud-Tes Kislev, which is approaching for good, for spreading the wellsprings outward — within the framework of Tzeirei Agudas Chabad, within the framework of the yeshivah, the village, etc., etc. And since it is human nature to be more enthusiastic when things are done through an awakening from below, on one's own initiative, I do not wish to write about this in detail to each of the various institutions, although I do come with a general point; and surely you will find ways and means to arouse all the above, and in good time, so that matters may be arranged in the best possible way ... From this it is understood that one must make an effort in the above, and on the contrary, that the number of visitors at this time of favor should increase and grow. For if regarding spices, a matter of the encompassing (makif), our Sages said that one who passes by a perfumer's shop absorbs its fragrance, since it cannot be otherwise, how much more so regarding Chassidus — its teaching, its guidance and its customs — whose nature is inward (pnimiyus) and encompassing together, so that one absorbs not only fragrance but also inner matters. And if so-and-so does not yet see this with his physical eyes, one must examine and search in whom the deficiency lies — enough said...

Surely it is superfluous to remind you about writing in the newspapers, and it would be very good also in the children's newspapers, in connection with the days of Yud and Yud-Tes Kislev, the fifth light of Chanukah, etc....

Surely they will arrange that there also be radio broadcasts about these auspicious days, linking and concluding the story of the past with "in actual practice" and "therefore" as it bears on the present. — Likewise they should record the main farbrengen, as last year.

As for what you write about material for the forthcoming Bitaon (Bitaon Chabad): surely they will make use of the regards and the accounts brought by the guests from the Holy Land, may it be rebuilt and established, who visited here, the national convention of Nshei uBnos Chabad, the Yud-Tes Kislev farbrengen, etc. And as is understood from the ruling of our Sages that it is a mitzvah to publicize those who do a mitzvah, the simple reason being that thereby there comes about "קנאת סופרים תרבה חכמה" — "the jealousy of scholars increases wisdom" (Bava Basra 21a).
