Your letter from the 11th of Marcheshvan was received. Now, as we are entering the month of redemption, it is time to plan in advance how to utilize the auspicious days of Shabbat Kodesh and Sunday—the bright day of Yud-Tes Kislev that is approaching—for spreading the wellsprings outward, within the framework of Tzeirei Agudas Chabad, within the yeshivah, the village, etc.

Since it is human nature to be more enthusiastic when things are done with an awakening from below (hisorerus d'letata), I do not want to write about this in detail to each institution individually—though I will address it in a general sense—and surely you will find ways and means to inspire all those mentioned above in good time so that matters will be arranged in the best possible way.

From this it is understood that one must strive in these matters; on the contrary, let the number of visitors increase and grow during this auspicious time. If regarding spices—a matter that surrounds from without—our Sages said that one who passes by a perfumer's shop inevitably absorbs some fragrance, how much more so regarding Chassidus: its Torah, guidance, and customs—which are both internal and encompassing—that one absorbs not only fragrance but also inner matters. And if for now one does not see this with physical eyes face-to-face—it requires examination and searching as to where the deficiency lies; enough said.

Certainly there is no need to remind you about writing in newspapers—and how good it would be also in children's newspapers—in connection with Yud Kislev and Yud-Tes Kislev, the fifth candle of Chanukah, etc.

Surely arrangements will also be made for radio broadcasts about these auspicious days, connecting and concluding stories about the past with practical lessons for the present. Likewise, record the main farbrengen as was done last year.

Regarding material for the upcoming journal—certainly you will utilize reports and stories told by guests from Eretz HaKodesh who visited here: the national convention of Nshei U'Bnos Chabad, the Yom Kippur farbrengen, etc. As is clear from our Sages' ruling that it is a mitzvah to publicize those who perform mitzvos—the simple reason being that this arouses positive jealousy among peers which increases wisdom.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches us to actively inspire others to participate in farbrengens and spread Chassidus through every available channel. By publicizing good deeds and utilizing communal enthusiasm during special times, we multiply their impact on ourselves and others.
