I was pleased to receive your letter from the 3rd of Kislev, in which you write about the visit of the Haraha"ch etc. Moh"e Yaakov Yosef Raskin, shochet and bodek, to the Chabad synagogue in Meah Shearim, and that he delivered a public address as I requested.

Surely, as our holy Nasi says: 'It is certain that efforts in spreading Judaism do not return empty-handed, G‑d forbid.' These actions have certainly had an effect on the conduct of the synagogue and its congregants.

And since 'each and every day does its work,' this will surely also influence daily life.

These days of the month of Kislev are especially auspicious—it is the month of redemption, particularly the bright day of Yud-Tes Kislev, our redemption and the liberation of our soul. The light and vitality given to our souls at this time strengthen our awakening and resolve to continue with even greater strength throughout the entire year.

Certainly you will do all you can in this matter, especially since your ancestors' merit assists you.
