I was saddened to hear that your health is not as it should be. May it be G‑d's will that your recovery be swift and complete, and may you share good news about this.

Enclosed is a copy of the list from Admor the tzt"z (on Tanach) regarding the verse 'Refa'eini Hashem ve'erafei' (Heal me, L‑rd, and I shall be healed)—the conclusion and closing of this Shabbat's haftarah: 'Im bechukotai telechu...' (If you walk in My statutes...) and 'I will give your rains in their season...' and all the blessings enumerated in the parsha, both generally and specifically: 'You will dwell securely in your land,' 'I will grant peace in the land,' 'I will be your G‑d and you will be My people,' from now until eternity. As it is said on this auspicious day—the yahrzeit of Rashbi (Zohar III 296b): 'For there Hashem commanded the blessing—life forevermore.' 'Length of days and years of life (and so on—that is), and peace they will add to you.'

P.S.: Volume XII of the Talmudic Encyclopedia that you sent has been received—many thanks for sending it and for your attention. The great pleasure and satisfaction—words cannot express; even though its content is similar to previous volumes, in such works an additional volume is not only an addition by itself but also enhances those that came before it. As discussed many times—and I believe I have also written to you about this—in regard to the encyclopedia: as long as entries under the letter Tav have not been printed, there is room for further completeness even in entries under Aleph.

Certainly for someone like yourself such elaboration is unnecessary; I write only to add further wishes for speed regarding future volumes soon in our days, with proper health, joy, good livelihood, and tranquility of soul and body.

Note on a separate page from Mishlei: There seems to be a contradiction from Yoma (86a) "I will heal their backsliding"—that part of His name remains upon him (Rashi there). It can be said that there it refers to healing from Above that comes through teshuvah out of awe—which at least does not surpass the limit of understanding; whereas here "for I am Hashem your healer," whose initials spell Arikh (from Maor Einayim Aleph 124 Be'air Netiv; see Ohr HaTorah by tzt"z Beshalach p. 1819). On the other hand—even when human intervention (doctor) is involved there are cases where "he recovers but not in a manner of healing (only) from now on (and thus some impression remains); rather this is just how things are..." or that human action is only "in the category of trial" (Shut Tzafnat Paneach siman 67; Tzafnat Paneach on Rambam Hilchot Issurei Biah ch.16 halacha 8). And no impression remains at all. Refuah sheleimah—a complete recovery.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that true healing comes both from Above and through human effort but ultimately depends on G‑d's blessing. He values ongoing Torah scholarship as an ever-increasing source of merit and spiritual benefit.
