Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the night of Friday, in which you ask for advice regarding your matters [1]. In general, the advice given in such cases is the concept of 'Shivisi Hashem Lenegdi Tamid' (I place G‑d before me always), which is a clear verse in Scripture. Moreover, our teacher the Rama, the last halachic authority in Israel, began all four sections of Shulchan Aruch with this to teach that this is the beginning and foundation of Torah observance. You should learn from Tanya Kadisha at the beginning of chapter 41 until page 2 at the word 'HaMelech,' and from time to time while at home or even when traveling, review this by heart—either verbally or at least in thought. When you accustom yourself to the idea that 'behold, Hashem stands over him,' as explained there in Tanya, it will naturally refine not only the soul but also the body. It is also proper to know by heart some chapters of Mishnayos and at least one chapter of Tanya. Every weekday before prayer, set aside some coins for charity; after prayer each day—including Shabbos and Yom Tov—recite the daily Tehillim portion as divided for the days of the month. All this will benefit your learning in general and your Torah and mitzvos specifically, as our Sages say: 'He who comes to purify himself is assisted.'
b) You also ask for advice for success in Torah study. It has already been said: 'If you toiled and did not find—do not believe.' That is, it depends on you; you have been given the strength for this. The more you increase awe of Heaven together with increased Torah study, the more Hashem's blessing will increase in these matters. As stated in Mishnah: 'Anyone whose fear precedes his wisdom—his wisdom endures.'
With blessing for good news.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that consistent focus on G‑d's presence, regular study and review of Tanya and Mishnayos by heart, daily charity before prayer, and reciting Tehillim bring spiritual refinement and success in Torah learning. Awe of Heaven together with effort ensures lasting wisdom.
