In response to your letter from the 2nd and 3rd of Kislev, in which you also write as a representative of the Young Agudas Chabad gathering regarding the idea to conduct an expanded campaign about reciting Tehillim as divided by the days of the month. Although the greatness of this matter needs no lengthy explanation—as is also clear from my father-in-law the Rebbe's letters on this topic—on the other hand, this is not the unique mission of Young Agudas Chabad. That is, their main work is spreading the wellsprings—meaning learning Chassidus and following its guidance—even though this [Tehillim] is one of the directives and instructions. Since there is reason to fear that involvement in such a campaign would greatly detract from their main work in other core matters—and moreover, such a campaign has no defined limit... Therefore, in my opinion, they should strengthen with all their might all those activities they have already begun, and additionally support Chabad institutions in Eretz HaKodesh as much as possible; for now, they should not consider new large-scale initiatives unless pressing matters arise that are time-sensitive.

It is understood and obvious that all this refers to special efforts to instill this practice; but certainly at every opportunity one should mention and encourage this practice as well as the daily study of Chumash and Tanya.

I was pleased with your idea to hold a youth gathering in Kfar Chabad and I hope preparations will be made according to plan—and all the more so that the event itself will be carried out with a detailed plan in advance and with proper energy—especially after the experience at last year's youth gathering where shortcomings were seen due to lack of detailed planning and insufficient coordination among organizers. This is clear.

P.S. Since this gathering is almost the first attempt at such an event, I will, G‑d willing, encourage Anash to participate through a special fundraising effort for one-third of the expenses.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that organizations should focus on their core mission—spreading Chassidus—rather than diverting resources into new campaigns unless truly necessary. Strengthening existing efforts brings greater impact while reminders about established practices remain important.
