במענה על מכתבו. נהניתי לקרות בו שהוטב מצב הפרנסה, ולכן חפץ הנני להיות בטוח שכשרואים חסדי השי"ת שהוטבו הענינים בגשמיות, מבינים תיכף הרמז שבזה, שבבחירתו חפשית להיטיב ענינים ברוחניות, שהרי הגשמיות משתלשל מהרוחניות, ואם השי"ת מקדים הגשמיות לרוחניות, צריך א"כ שכל שבאדם תיכף להודיע שהוא צריך לעשות מצדו לחזק ולהגדיל הצנור והכלים לקבלת ברכות השי"ת.
מה שכותב שנדמה לו שישנם ענינים וואס בא עם האט זיך ניט אפּגעלייגט, ואין לו ידיעה רבה בתורה וכו'. הנה בכל ענינים אלו צריכים להשתמש בבחינה שכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר מביאה בשם כ"ק אביו אדמו"ר - זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע (הועתק בהיום יום כ"ג סיון), שאם מונע זה מתורה ועבודה ה"ז מתחבולות היצר הרע.
ובטח למותר לעוררו שלסייעתא דשמיא צריכים להיות נזהר בטבילת עזרא, וליתן בכל יום חול קודם תפלה איזה פרוטות לצדקה, לומר תהלים בכל יום אחרי תפלת שחרית (השיעור תהלים כפי שנחלק לימי החדש), ושיעור בכל יום בלימוד פנימיות התורה.
אקוה שעושה במרץ המתאים ובאופן המתאים לאברך חסידותי בעניני שידוכין, והשי"ת יצליחו לבשר טוב בכל הנ"ל.

In response to your letter. I was pleased to read that your financial situation has improved, and therefore I wish to be confident that when one sees the kindness of Hashem and improvement in material matters, one immediately understands the hint within this: that by one's own free choice one should improve matters in spirituality. For the material descends from the spiritual, and if Hashem brings material improvement before spiritual improvement, then it is necessary for each person to immediately recognize that he must do his part to strengthen and expand the channels and vessels for receiving Hashem's blessings.
Regarding what you write—that it seems to you there are matters which have not yet been resolved, and you lack great knowledge in Torah, etc.—in all these matters one must use the principle which my revered father-in-law the Rebbe brings in the name of his father the Rebbe—may his merit protect us (as quoted in Hayom Yom for 23 Sivan): if something prevents Torah study and service of Hashem, this is a tactic of the yetzer hara.
Certainly it is unnecessary to remind you that for heavenly assistance one must be careful with Ezra's immersion (tevilas Ezra), give some coins to charity every weekday before prayer, say Tehillim every day after Shacharis (the Tehillim portion as divided for the days of the month), and have a daily lesson in learning the inner dimension of Torah.
I hope you are acting with proper energy and in a manner fitting for a chassidic Avrech regarding shidduchim matters, and may Hashem grant you success to share good news about all of the above.
