Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from Motzaei Shabbos Kodesh, the 8th of Kislev.

As I believe I wrote in my previous letter, I am not aware here of the details of the actual incident that was written to me about and which you also mention in your letter. There is no reason to get involved in such matters from afar, especially in Jerusalem, the holy city, where there are many rabbis. The entire point of the letter was that there is absolutely no reason to bring complaints to anyone before inviting the person in question to a rabbi (or Beis Din) in Eretz Yisrael—and even better, in Jerusalem itself—and presenting all claims there. They will instruct him with Daas Torah on this matter. If the other party refuses to appear before a rabbi, as is customary among Jews, he should receive from the rabbi a letter of refusal regarding that person and guidance on whether he may present his claims elsewhere. For regarding every Jew—especially Anash who are educated in chassidic ways according to our Rebbeim—our holy Torah is a Torah of life: it provides instruction for daily living and every detail of human life, both between man and G‑d and between man and his fellow. No one should take judgment into their own hands; on the contrary, when one feels certain they are correct, there is even more reason for extra caution in this matter. This is clear and simple. The holy Torah is also a Torah of true life.

You wrote your letter during Chanukah, when the war with the Greeks was not against Torah wisdom but "to make them forget Your Torah" (which is the holy Torah of Hashem). Similarly regarding mitzvos: they sought to make Jews abandon mitzvos called "the statutes of Your will." The Jewish people gave their lives for these points without considering logical calculations and succeeded through this conduct—to the extent that this matter was established for all generations. This teaches every individual within all Israel that—as Scripture says—if you walk in My statutes (and our Sages interpret: that you should labor in Torah), then "I will give your rains in their season," etc.—the blessing of Hashem with everything a person needs from His full open holy and generous hand.

Because of the importance of peace, etc., this letter was sent quickly as urgent.

At an auspicious time you will be mentioned for fulfillment of your heart's desires for good in all matters about which you write—and first and foremost—for a good shidduch very soon and in all details.

Blessings for good news regarding all the above.

Summary
