Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letters in which you write about your mood and the problems that have arisen in your class, which have led you for the time being to leave your teaching position, and you ask my opinion on this.

In my opinion, there are three reasons for your state of mind: a) For some reason (which can only be known locally), you are extremely tired from your work, combined with another matter (perhaps household chores or something similar that exhausts the body); b) It seems you received a higher-level class than you anticipated or than is appropriate at the beginning of independent teaching; c) As explained in Sefer Tanya Kadisha, most people are not on the level of tzaddikim—that is, there is still room for the evil inclination's temptation. One of its most active tactics—and therefore dearest to it—is to draw a person into sadness and discouragement, especially when one is tired or similarly affected; then it is much easier to bring about such a mood.

From the above my opinion is clear: it is simply within your ability to continue in teaching, succeed in it, and rise from level to level. However, first you must remove the aforementioned causes, starting from the last: a) Decide not to listen to the evil inclination's temptation; b) Choose among the classes the one that is easiest from a discipline standpoint as well as academically; c) Begin teaching after proper rest so that your body is not tired or exhausted. Not everyone needs the same amount of time for adequate rest—some need only a few hours while others require several days—but what they share is that deciding to view the situation as it truly is helps: this is not something extraordinary but rather an ordinary situation where several causes happened at once, making their effect seem greater than usual. Since each cause on its own is neither difficult nor significant, they can be easily overcome.

Because a person is close to themselves and therefore cannot always assess their own strengths or how external matters affect them, it would be worthwhile for you to consult with friends who know all this—especially your school principal Rabbi Zilbershterm.

The Holy One watches over everyone with individual Divine Providence. You have seen His kindness and goodness many times before—even recently—so surely He will guide you well as long as you strengthen your trust in the Creator and Ruler of the world and remain calm, joyful, and good-hearted.

With blessing for good news in all of the above.
