בנועם קבלתי מכתבן מיום ו' עש"ק פ' בלק, ו' תמוז, ובטח בינתים קבלו העתק המכתב ע"י המזכירות ע"ד הצורך להגדיל העבודה, ותקותי שעושות בכיוון זה בכל האפשריות, ובפרט שהי' בינתים יום הגאולה של נשיאנו כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר אשר כל כך השתדל באירגון נשי ובנות חב"ד והתפתחותן ועבודתם.
ואף על פי שלכאורה הזמן דבין המצרים הוא עת של אי-שמחה כיון שמזכירים ע"ד החורבן וההירוס, אבל פשיטא שגם זמן זה אינו ענין לעצבות ונמיכת רוח, אלא אדרבה, שהרי מה שנחרב הוא בית המקדש התחתון הבנוי מעצים ומאבנים ולא ביהמ"ק הרוחני והפנימי, וידוע מאמר רז"ל על הפ' ושכנתי בתוכם, בתוך כל או"א מהם. וענין דבין המצרים הוא להזכיר ולעורר אשר החובה על כל אחד ואחת מבני ישראל הוא לעשות לו דירה בתחתונים על ידי שמירת התורה ומצותי' בחיי היום-יום לקיים מש"כ ועשו לי מקדש ושכנתי בתוכם ממש, ולהחיש הגאולה השלימה על ידי משיח צדקנו בהפצת המעיינות אפילו בין אלו שעדין חוצה. וגדולה האחריות על כל אחד ואחת מאתנו בימינו אלה בפרט, אחר החורבן וההרס הנורא שראינו במו עינינו, ואותנו הצילה ההשגחה הפרטית והשאירה אותנו לפליטה כדי להחיות עם רב. וכיון שאין הקב"ה בא בטרוניא עם בריותיו, הרי ברור שיחד עם האחריות הגדולה כפולה ומכופלת המוטלת על כל אחד ואחת ניתנו גם הכחות והיכולת והאפשריות למלא כל אחד תפקידו.
ויהי רצון אשר בקרוב ממש ימים אלו יהפכו לששון ולשמחה.

I received your letter from Friday, Parshas Balak, 6 Tammuz with pleasure. Surely by now you have received a copy of the letter from the secretariat regarding the need to expand your work. I hope you are acting in this direction with all possible effort, especially since in the meantime was the day of redemption of our Nasi, the Previous Rebbe, who worked so much on organizing and developing Nshei U'Bnos Chabad and their activities.
Although it may seem that the period of Bein HaMetzarim is a time lacking joy because it recalls destruction and ruin, it is clear that even this time is not meant for sadness or depression. On the contrary: what was destroyed was only the lower Beis HaMikdash made of wood and stone—not the spiritual and inner Beis HaMikdash. It is well known what our Sages said about the verse 'V'Shachanti B'Socham' ("And I will dwell among them")—within each and every one of them.
The matter of Bein HaMetzarim is to remind and awaken us that every Jew has an obligation to make a dwelling place for G‑d in this world by keeping Torah and mitzvos in daily life—to fulfill 'Ve'asu Li Mikdash V'Shachanti B'Socham Mamash' ("And they shall make Me a sanctuary and I will dwell among them literally")—and to hasten the complete redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu by spreading the wellsprings even among those still outside.
The responsibility upon each one of us is great in these times especially—after witnessing such terrible destruction with our own eyes—and Divine Providence has saved us and left us as a remnant so we may give life to many people.
Since Hashem does not demand from His creations more than they can handle, it is clear that together with this doubled and redoubled responsibility placed on each one of us, we are also given the strength, ability, and opportunities to fulfill our roles.
May it be G‑d's will that very soon these days will be transformed into joy and gladness.
