לאחרי שתיקתו הכי ארוכה נתקבל מכתבו מעש"ק, ובודאי למותר לעוררו שגם הוא ינצל כחותיו בעדוד רוח אנ"ש וצעירי אנ"ש, וביחוד אלו שבכפר חב"ד, ובהדגשה אשר דוקא במקום אשר נתגלתה מדת כו' הנה שם תתגלה מדת הרחמים שהיא גדולה ממדת החסד שלפני' נחלה בלי מצרים מבריח מן הקצה אל הקצה, וכמ"ש לכמה מאנ"ש.
והביאור ע"פ חסידות ועוד יותר אין דעם ארום פון חסידות, אשר גם התעוררות זו וקליטת הוראת רבותינו הק' צריכה להיות באופן שתמשך במעשה, היינו עשי' ככל הדרוש וככל היכולת בהתפתחות הכפר והמוסדות אשר בו, הן בכמות והן באיכות, שבודאי יתוסף עי"ז בהפצת המעינות עד שיגיעו גם חוצה.
נעם לי לקרות במכתבו שמשתדל לנצל כשרונותיו בענין הנ"ל ע"י התועדות וכדומה, ומה טוב שיחפש הזדמנות כאלו בכפר חב"ד והתלמידים הנמצאים שם, כי דרישת השעה היא וענין שהזמן גרמא...
במ"ש במכתבו אודות מאמר רבנו הזקן (הובא בתו"א בתחלתו) שע"י הצדקה נעשים מוחו ולבו זכים אלף פעמים ככה, הנה כתבתי לאחד שלשונו הזהב של רבנו הזקן מדוייק בכל התיבות ואותיות. ובהנ"ל אומר שנעשו זכים, היינו כלים מוכשרים לקבלה ביותר וביותר, אבל אינו אומר שנעשים מלאים ידיעות והרגשים. שמזה מובן אשר אף שהצלחה מופלגה להעושה צדקה, בכ"ז גם הוא זקוק לעבודה ללימוד ויגיעה, אלא שהפירות הם אלף פעמים ככה, אלף ממש וכמוכח מהגהות צ"צ שנדפסו בלקו"ת לג' פרשיות שם.

After your longest silence, your letter from Erev Shabbat was received. Surely it is unnecessary to remind you that you too should use your abilities to encourage the spirit of Anash and the youth of Anash, especially those in Kfar Chabad. It is important to emphasize that specifically in a place where a certain attribute was revealed, there the attribute of mercy—which is greater than the previous attribute of kindness—will be revealed: an inheritance without boundaries stretching from one end to the other, as I have written to several of Anash. The explanation according to Chassidus—and even more so with the loftiness of Chassidus—is that even this awakening and absorbing the teachings of our holy Rebbeim must be such that it leads to action; meaning, doing everything necessary and possible for the development of the village and its institutions, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Certainly this will increase the spreading of the wellsprings until they reach even further outwards.
I was pleased to read in your letter that you are striving to use your talents for this matter through farbrengens and similar activities. How good it would be if you would seek such opportunities in Kfar Chabad and among the students there, for this is what is demanded at this time and is a matter dictated by current circumstances...
Regarding what you wrote about the Alter Rebbe's maamar (brought at the beginning of Torah Ohr) that through tzedakah one's mind and heart become refined a thousand times over: I wrote to someone that every word and letter of the Alter Rebbe's golden language is precise. In this context he says "they become refined," meaning they become vessels fit for greater reception—but he does not say they become filled with knowledge and feelings. From this it is understood that even though giving tzedakah brings great success to its giver, nevertheless he still needs work—study and effort; only now the fruits are a thousand times greater—literally a thousand—as is evident from Tzt"z's glosses printed in Likkutei Torah on those three parshiyot there.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that inspiration must translate into concrete action for communal growth. While charity refines us greatly, true spiritual achievement also requires ongoing study and personal effort.
