Shalom u'Vrachah!

I was saddened to hear that your health is not as it should be, and especially that you are experiencing some depression. It is astonishing regarding you—and in general anyone from our generation whom Hashem has protected and who remain as embers snatched from the fire—that after witnessing such personal Divine providence with their own eyes, there can still be doubt. And even if not, G‑d forbid, in the power of faith in a superficial way, but rather regarding the feeling of the heart—if so, then Hashem, Who is the essence of good and whose nature is to do good, arranges a person's life in all its details. If this faith and understanding would penetrate also into one's feelings, then surely one would rejoice in his lot; consequently his health would improve as it should be, and he would gain strength in his service fulfilling the mission of the supernal man in this world.

Even though in every matter one must act according to natural means—as it says "in all that you do" (and the reason for this is explained elsewhere, including near the end of Kuntres Uma'ayan)—therefore one must be careful to follow the doctors' instructions. However, this conduct should not be with a divided heart, as is well known.

If you will heed my advice: take a week or two off to calm your state of mind; through rest and relaxation strengthen your health. After this break—and with a firm decision to serve Hashem with joy—you will be able to continue your activities and communal work with proper health and success.

With blessings for good news both for yourself and your family members. All the best.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that survivors who witnessed Divine providence must internalize faith and serve Hashem with joy. He encourages practical steps like rest alongside spiritual resolve, emphasizing that true joy brings both emotional healing and physical health.
