Shalom u'Vrachah!
Pleasantly, I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 26th of Tammuz, and thank you for your attention.
Seeing your heartfelt feeling and love for Kfar Chabad, within your general Ahavas Yisrael (love for fellow Jews), strengthening this is most timely—especially in these days of Bein HaMetzarim (the Three Weeks) between the destruction of the Second Temple, which occurred because of baseless hatred, as our Sages of blessed memory have taught (Yoma 9b).
It is obvious that our commandment to make a remembrance for the destruction—especially in these days—is intended for rectification. For as we say in prayer: "Because of our sins we were exiled from our land," and it is impossible to nullify the result except by nullifying its cause. Any reduction or weakening in the cause brings a reduction and weakening in the result—even if, as explained in Chassidus, it is currently only in the higher worlds.
Since the main sin was baseless hatred, its rectification is through baseless love. May it be G‑d's will that very soon we merit the end of our exile and true and complete redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu (our righteous redeemer), and may these days be transformed into joy and gladness.
With honor and blessings for health.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that increasing Ahavas Yisrael—especially during Bein HaMetzarim—rectifies the cause of exile and hastens redemption. By replacing baseless hatred with unconditional love, we help transform mourning into joy.
