Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the day that "ki tov" was doubled, along with its enclosure, in which you write about your son the Tamim... It is not entirely clear from your letter whether you are also asking on behalf of your son, may he live, and his wife, may she be well—since their travel is also mentioned—or if for now it is only on your own behalf and after discussion there will be arguments for both sides, etc.
In any case, it is understood that in matters of shidduch the son should not decide on his own without at least one parent being present. Also, it seems appropriate to inquire through friends in both countries you mention if there are any suggestions that at least seem satisfactory. Only after this should you undertake the trip which involves expenses of money, time, etc., especially since both in Eretz HaKodesh and in the United States he has friends, etc. Based on the information received it will be easier to decide how to proceed.
May it be the will of Hashem, Who watches over each individual with Divine Providence, that He guide you for the best in all details.
I hope—even though you did not mention anything about the Yud Shevat farbrengen—that such a gathering was held and preparations are being made for the upcoming Purim farbrengen as well. The mitzvah of the day involves wine for every head—wine of Torah, secrets of Torah as explained elsewhere—and we have been assured: "He who comes to purify..." It is known that our master the Alter Rebbe was particular to purify others as well—they assist him.
With blessings for a good month and a joyous Purim and for good news in all the above.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that shidduch decisions should involve parental guidance and input from trusted friends before taking significant steps. Gathering information and relying on communal support help ensure wise choices aligned with Divine Providence.
