The Avrech Menachem Ben Tzion, may he live.

Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letters from the 20th of Iyar and earlier, in which you write outlines from the farbrengen and activities during Pesach—certainly you will continue with such matters in the future and with more detail. Thank you.

Regarding what you wrote about the Avrech Y.K., may he live, who wanted to prevent you from meeting his friend in the past but ultimately was unsuccessful—certainly from this too one can learn the truth of the Mishnah's statement: one mitzvah leads to another and vice versa. His refusal to participate in the Melaveh Malka gathering in Kfar Chabad—even though he surely knew its purpose was to discuss spreading the wellsprings outward and matters of charity—led to another similar matter. Had he traveled there, not only would there have been no undesirable influence (even if only a passing one), but he would have performed another mitzvah by positively influencing his friend's friend as well.

It is understood that this is not meant as rebuke but rather to awaken him for the future regarding our Sages' teaching: do not sit and weigh the mitzvos of Torah saying "this mitzvah is light," or "there is no campaign for it," or "the effort of travel is not worthwhile," etc.

As for what you wrote about not always seeing complete success in your studies and feeling as if you do not remember what you learn—I believe I have already written that all this is merely enticement from the yetzer (evil inclination), and it is a waste of time to argue with it or engage in debate about whether it is true—when during that time one could actually be learning. As I wrote before, especially when learning together with friends, one succeeds more—as stated in the Mishnah.

Regarding your comment that lack of success stems from insufficient connection: since it has been ruled that every Jew was sworn at Sinai to fulfill all that was said there, this gives extra strength to fulfill mitzvos. Especially as explained in Chassidus on our Sages' phrase "they administer an oath"—meaning both an oath and satisfaction (shovah), for satisfaction comes through an oath (see TzTz's glosses on Tanya—printed in Sefer Kitzur VeHe'aros LeTanya). If only one desires, then Hashem helps him learn, succeed, teach, observe, do, and fulfill.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that perseverance in Torah study and communal involvement brings Divine assistance. One should never underestimate any mitzvah or be discouraged by setbacks; every effort counts and influences others positively.
