It is surprising that there has been a break in your letters and updates, both from you and from your family, and only indirectly did I learn that the matter of the city... has not concluded, though I do not know the details.

Even though it is surely unnecessary to remind you about assisting Anash in their personal matters, and certainly in communal matters, nevertheless, since it appears that Anash in Melbourne are struggling regarding the Oholei Yosef Yitzchak Lubavitch and Beis Rivka institutions, based on our Sages' saying that one only encourages those who are already eager, I write these lines solely for added encouragement—to urge you to do all you can and even more than that.

It is well known the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe: when a person below decides to give tzedakah—even if the decision exceeds his current ability—at the moment of his decision they open additional channels from Above so he can fulfill his good resolution completely. It is understood that all this applies as well to spiritual tzedakah.

My intention here is not only regarding your own help but also through influencing those who listen to your voice so they too will assist these institutions and their related matters as much as possible. Our Sages have already declared: words that come from the heart enter the heart.

Blessings for good news in all of the above, and with a blessing—in the language [of my father-in-law]—for receiving the Torah with joy and inwardness.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that sincere commitment to support both materially and spiritually brings Divine assistance. By encouraging others as well as oneself to help communal institutions, one opens new channels of blessing from Above.
