Shalom u'Vrachah!
It has been quite a long time since I have heard from you, until these days when I received greetings through the distinguished Avrech Shmuel Pesach Bogomalski, who also informed me that he is expecting a letter from you.
May it be G‑d's will that your letter should contain good news, in the expression of our Sages of blessed memory: "Good for Heaven and good for people and good that produces fruit." And as we discussed when you were here—not only should it be good for yourself (and there is no true good except Torah), but also to influence this goodness upon those people who are together with you. And since we are now in the period of Bein HaMetzarim, which according to what our Sages tell us is among the causes of the destruction—also the matter of baseless hatred (hating without reason)—there must be a rectification in this by holding on to and caring for another's well-being, even for someone who—according to human eyes—has nothing that would make one love him. This will bring closer the fulfillment of the prophecy of Zechariah that these days—from Bein HaMetzarim etc.—will be transformed into joy and gladness and festivals (Zechariah 8:19).
With blessing for good news in all mentioned above.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that especially during Bein HaMetzarim, we must strengthen Ahavas Yisrael by caring for others—even those we may not naturally feel close to. Through spreading goodness and unity, we help transform times of mourning into joy and redemption.
