במענה למכתבו מט"ו אלול חדש הרחמים, בו כותב ע"ד מה שקרא בשיחה בהנוגע לענין פרוזבול, שענינו הוא מסירת שטרותיו לבית דין. ומביא פלוגתת רש"י ותוס' בזה.
ויעיין הלכות הלואה לרבנו הזקן בעל התניא - (פוסק בנסתר דתורה) - והשולחן ערוך - (פוסק בנגלה דתורה), בסעיף ל"ד, שזה שמש יסוד להאמור בשיחה, כאילו מסר שטרו לבית דין כו', ואפילו אין לו שטר כלל אלא חוב בע"פ, מועיל פרוזבול.
בהזדמנות זו אעוררו על שמירת שלשת השיעורים דחומש תהלים ותניא, הידועים, אשר שמענו כמה פעמים מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר סגולה הם לכמה ענינים.

In response to your letter from the 15th of Elul, the month of mercy, in which you write about what you read in a talk regarding Prozbul—whose purpose is transferring one's promissory notes to a Beis Din—and you mention the dispute between Rashi and Tosafos on this matter.
Please review Hilchos Halva'ah by our master the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya (a posek in the mystical dimension of Torah), and Shulchan Aruch (a posek in the revealed dimension of Torah), section 34. This serves as a foundation for what was stated in the talk: that even if one only acts "as if he transferred his note to Beis Din," and even if he has no written note at all but only an oral debt, Prozbul is effective.
On this occasion I would like to encourage you regarding maintaining the three known daily study portions—Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya—which we have heard many times from my revered father-in-law the Previous Rebbe zatzal nishmaso Eden—that these are a segulah for many matters.
