With pleasure I received your letter from the 10th of Adar Sheini with the enclosed contribution of Maos Chittim for the Chabad institutions in our holy land—may it be rebuilt and established speedily in our days through Moshiach Tzidkeinu.
May Hashem Yisborach help that your work should continue and increase both in quantity (expanding the number of members) and in quality (maintaining and strengthening Judaism in more areas).
This is indeed one of the lessons (indications) regarding Purim that our Rebbeim, of blessed memory, tell us: that the half-shekel which Jews gave nullified Haman's ten thousand silver talents, and through this the decree was annulled. In our time, the half-shekel is expressed through tzedakah.
