In response to your letter from the 15th of Kislev and its preface: It is understood that there is no reason or basis for discouragement, etc., due to the delay in responses to your letters from here—since the reason is an abundance of preoccupations. Therefore, replies are given first to those matters that are most urgent because people act in crooked ways and similar situations, as is known from our Sages' explanation regarding King Shlomo's prayer, where conditions were set concerning the Jewish people but not otherwise; similarly, in a subtle way, this applies also in our case.

Regarding what you wrote about the Talmud Torah: Even though there is certainly room for several corrections which you detailed—I hope that everyone agrees it is impossible to doubt the necessity of the Talmud Torah itself, and due to its obviousness there is no need to elaborate on this...

I await good news from the farbrengen of the bright day of Yud-Tes Kislev, and surely you will also utilize the days of Chanukah—for matters of Judaism in general and especially for spreading the wellsprings—and may Hashem grant you success.
