Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from the 24th of Marcheshvan and the 10th of Kislev, and what was enclosed in them. Surely in the meantime you have received my reply to your previous letter.

It is unfortunate that you become disheartened when someone comes with a complaint or someone behaves in an undesirable manner. This has been the way of our world for generations past—perhaps even on a greater scale than now. Who is greater than the first communal activist after Matan Torah—Moshe Rabbeinu, the first recipient of our holy Torah? And yet, etc. On the contrary, in these days our work is easier since "the deeds of the fathers are a sign for the children," and they have already paved the way. Furthermore, the concealments and obstacles are lighter compared to those mentioned above. Although who can dare compare himself (as explained by Rabbeinu HaZaken in Tanya chapter 44), nevertheless there is certainly encouragement and strengthening here—how much more so—and this is clear.

This is especially true in these days as we enter the month of Kislev—the month of redemption and miracles—and its lesson is to continually increase (in light). Blessings for good news in all mentioned above and for making outstanding use of these days of this month.

P.S. Surely also this year Chanukah gelt will be distributed in my name—as was done last year.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that challenges from others are not new; even great leaders faced them. The month of Kislev brings added strength and opportunity for growth—one should remain encouraged and make full use of its special days.
