במענה על מכתבו, ובינתים נתקבל מכתבו בתו תחי' ועניתי לה כבר.
בודאי יתועדו בתו"ת ביום הבהיר י"ט כסלו זה ולמחרתו, וישתדלו כל האפשרי להמשיך גם תלמידי שאר הישיבות, שהרי קרובים הם יותר מאשר חוצה כפשוטו, ובפרט לאחרי ההתבוננות בהשתדלות רבנו הזקן (נוסף על השתדלות שאר תלמידי המגיד), לרכוש בני תורה ובעלי כשרון לתורת החסידות, וגם השם מורה חב"ד דוקא, וכמבואר בכמה שיחות מכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, שמזה מובן שצריכה השתדלות יתירה בנקודה זו של רכישת בני תורה, ובודאי גם בזה יקוים פס"ד של מעלה, אשר בגלל מסירות נפש הלזו (של רבנו הזקן) על תורת החסידות פסקו בבי"ד של מעלה, אשר בכל ענין של תורה יראת שמים ומדות טובות תהי' יד מקושריו והולכי בעקבותיו על העליונה.

In response to your letter, and in the meantime I have received your daughter's letter—may she live—and I have already answered her.
Certainly you will arrange a gathering in Tomchei Temimim on this bright day of Yud-Tes Kislev and the following day, and you will make every possible effort to draw in students from other yeshivos as well, for they are closer than those truly outside, especially after reflecting on the efforts of our master the Alter Rebbe (in addition to those of the other students of the Maggid) to win over Bnei Torah and talented individuals for the study of Chassidus. Also, the very name indicates specifically Chabad—as explained in several talks by my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal—so it is understood that extra effort is required in this area of drawing Bnei Torah. Certainly also here will be fulfilled the ruling from Above that because of this self-sacrifice (of the Alter Rebbe) for the teachings of Chassidus, it was decreed in the Heavenly Court that in every matter of Torah, fear of Heaven, and good character traits, his followers and those who walk in his path will prevail.
