In response to your letter from the 26th of Teves, I hope that even though you did not mention it, you explained to the students the significance of the yahrzeit on the 24th of Teves. This itself is also a preparation for explaining to them about the upcoming yahrzeit on the 10th of Shevat.

Regarding what you wrote about a claim that you influenced some students to become chassidim before their time, and you ask for clarification on this matter: In such cases, since you have already influenced them, it is not so relevant how things should have been arranged beforehand. One must utilize their awakening at least in matters relevant to them so that there will be increased vitality and similar qualities. This also fulfills their desire to extend somewhat in the Shabbat prayers; however, it is necessary to instruct them and also supervise that they fulfill the instruction so that their thoughts are on appropriate matters and not wandering here and there. Even though one cannot know another's thoughts, supervision is possible through asking beforehand (on Friday or Shabbat before prayer) what they intend to think about, etc., or by giving prior instruction (that it should fit with the weekly parsha or with the meaning of the words), which is proper so they will think about a particular topic...
