נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מכ"ה תשרי, ובו הבשורה טובה מעריכת התועדות בשמחת בית השואבה ודברי התעוררות שאמר לפני אחב"י הזקנים והזקנות הנמצאים בסביבתו, ויה"ר אשר יכיר הוא בגודל הדבר שנבחר להיות צנור להביא עניני חסידות ומנהגי' בסביבה זו בתוככי מאות דבני ישראל, אשר אם על המקיים נפש אחת מישראל אמרו רז"ל שהוא כאילו קיים עולם מלא עאכו"כ וכו' ובטח כבר נוכח שמשפיעים הצלחה בפעולותיו, ובאם ימשיך בזה בדרכי נועם, אבל בתוקף המתאים, להבא, בודאי תגדל גם ההצלחה, ויה"ר שעל ידי זה יגדל בו התיאבון דקדושה להגדיל הפעולות.
ולהודעתו מיום הולדתו. הנה יה"ר שעוד רבות בשנים יזכה להתעסק להפיץ נר מצוה תורה אור ומאור שבתורה זוהי פנימיות התורה סביבו.

It was pleasant for me to receive your letter from the 25th of Tishrei, containing the good news about organizing a farbrengen at Simchat Beit HaShoeva and the words of inspiration you shared with the Jewish men and women—elderly—who are in your surroundings. May it be G‑d's will that you recognize the greatness of having been chosen as a conduit to bring matters of Chassidus and its customs into this environment among hundreds of Jews. For if regarding one who sustains a single Jewish soul our Sages said it is as if he sustained an entire world, how much more so, etc. Surely you have already seen that your efforts bring success in your activities, and if you continue in this with pleasant ways but with appropriate firmness in the future, certainly your success will increase. May it be G‑d's will that through this your holy appetite to expand these activities will also grow.
Regarding your notification about your birthday: May it be G‑d's will that for many more years you merit to engage in spreading "Ner Mitzvah Torah Or" (the candle is a mitzvah and Torah is light) and the illumination within Torah—that is, the inner dimension of Torah—among those around you.
Blessings for a year of success with joy together with your wife may she live.
