In response to your letter from Erev Shabbos Kodesh, I enjoyed reading about the study schedules and especially about the students' progress in awe of Heaven. May it be G‑d's will that the words and matters of study serve as guidance for all future times.

You did well by delaying the student ... from writing here immediately, because it is not proper that someone who receives advice and does not see open wonders and miracles right away should think nothing is lacking. Our Sages said: 'If you did not toil and found success, do not believe.' Writing letters is an easy matter; it is understood that this applies not only to the above but also to the other students. Furthermore, following our Sages: 'If you did toil and did not find success, do not believe.'

For the upcoming Shavuos holiday, may you merit—as my revered father-in-law the Rebbe of blessed memory would say—to receive the Torah with joy and inwardness, and may you be able to share good news regarding all of the above.

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that true success in Torah comes through sincere effort. If one does not see immediate results after receiving advice, it indicates more work is needed—miracles are tied to genuine striving. This lesson applies to every student seeking growth.
