I was pleased to receive your letter in which you write about the new study schedule, and certainly you are striving to increase both the number of students—male and female—and the quality of their conduct, especially regarding their behavior. When one opens even as much as the eye of a needle, Hashem opens as wide as a great hall.

I was glad to see your hint in the letter that you intend to change the mikveh so that it will be connected by hashakah with rainwater and not, G‑d forbid, with vadah pravod (tap water). Certainly all possible stringencies will be observed, as is known this is the standard regarding mikvaot. Note from Mishnah and its commentaries at the end of Yoma: Israel's redemption depends on purity; see also the Beraita at the end of Sotah: purity brings about etc., leads to Eliyahu HaNavi.

Is it possible to institute that all students—boys and girls—should learn practical halachot needed for daily life? And likewise in Meknes and all other places?
