ראיתי שורותיו המעטות בשולי מכתב...
ומובן אשר תמהתי וגם נצטערתי על הסיום אשר נתק ח"ו קשריו עם כפר חב"ד.
ומבלי להכנס על מה ומה הם הטעמים והנמוקים וכו' שהרי בודאי לא הי' עושה ענין כזה סתם בעלמא,
הרי בודאי שאין האמור נכון כלל וכלל.
דאם בכלל צ"ל אהבת ישראל וקירוב הלבבות וכו' (כמבואר בארוכה בספר תניא קדישא פרק ל"ב) עאכו"כ בדורנו ובאה"ק ת"ו ועאכו"כ בההולכים בדרכיו ואורחותיו של בעל התניא ואפילו להצודק במאה אחוז, דרישה האמורה מופנית, ובפרט שאמרו חז"ל כל המעביר על מדותיו וכו'.
והרי מתקרבים אנו לחדש אלול חדש הרחמים. ובודאי האריכות בכגון זה אין בה צורך, ואצפה לבשו"ט בכל האמור.

I saw your brief lines in the margin of a letter... and it is understandable that I was surprised and also saddened by the conclusion that you have, G‑d forbid, severed your ties with Kfar Chabad. Without entering into what exactly are the reasons and explanations, etc.—for certainly you would not do such a thing without cause—it is clear that what is stated is not correct at all.
If in general there must be Ahavas Yisrael and bringing hearts closer (as explained at length in Sefer Tanya Kadisha, chapter 32), how much more so in our generation and in Eretz HaKodesh, and even more so among those who follow the ways and paths of the Baal HaTanya. Even if one is one hundred percent correct, this demand applies—especially since our Sages said: "Whoever overlooks his own measures," etc. And we are approaching the month of Elul, the month of mercy. Certainly there is no need to elaborate further on this matter, and I look forward to good news regarding all of the above.
With honor and blessing for good news in all the above. As our Sages said: Yoma 23a and elsewhere.
