Your letter was received. May it be G‑d's will that in all your matters you will share good news—true good. As explained at the beginning of this week's Torah portion: Lech Lecha—the general instruction is to go to yourself—to your true essence and being—the core of every individual from the seed of Avraham Avinu. This is achieved by leaving and moving away from "your land": material and earthly matters—coarse desires of the animal soul; "your birthplace": what comes from habit—traits of the animal soul; and "your father's house": intellect of the animal soul. This is the path to reach the higher land that I will show you.
As is known from the Baal Shem Tov in the name of Rav Saadia Gaon: The main purpose for which a person was created in this world is to break his own negative traits, etc.—and so it says: Lech Lecha, etc. On an even higher level—the response of the Alter Rebbe to the tzt"z: The entire purpose of Chassidus is to change one's natural traits. And when G‑d commands through His servants, our Rebbeim and leaders, this itself gives strength; however, it must specifically be you—by your own choice.

Summary
The journey of Lech Lecha teaches us to leave behind materialism and ingrained habits in order to discover our true selves. By breaking negative traits and transforming our nature through personal effort, we fulfill our purpose as taught by Chassidus.
