במענה על מכתבו מיום הראשון בו כותב ע"ד אחריות הגדולה המוטלת על הראשי ישיבות בהנוגע להקישוים בהסתדרות מתאימה בחיים של תלמידי הישיבות ומתאר הקישוים שישנם בקבלת משרת מורה וכן בהנוגע למשרת רבנות, אשר איש הישר בעיניו עושה בזה.
והנה בכמה, הקישוים בקבלת משרת מורה הוטב המצב בשנים האחרונות, ובכל אופן אין זה שאלה של הישיבות בלבד אלא שאלת המצב הכללי ברחוב היהודים בעניני יהדות, ותמי' על אשר אינו מעורר עד"ז באסיפות של הארגונים החרדים המתעסקים בכגון דא, אסיפות רבנים אסיפות מפלגות חרדים וכיו"ב, ואף שמרחק גדול מהחלטות אסיפות הנ"ל ועד שיבואו הדברים בפועל, בכל זה תועלת ישנה בהדיון עד"ז שמעורר דעת הקהל, ועכ"פ באיזהו מקומן משתפר המצב, והרי אפילו בשביל נפש אחת מישראל כדאית ההשתדלות והטרחה בזה.
בהנקודה שכותב שבשטח הרבנות איש כל הישר בעיניו יעשה, צריך הי' להתדבר עם כמה מהרבנים הצעירים שגם הם הרגישו בנקודה כאובה זו, אלא שכל אחד מתאונן בהפנה שלו, וקשה בארצוה"ב להשמיע דעת יחיד, משא"כ באם היו מתארגנים יחד ומודיעים מחאתם, שבלי ספק היתה עושה רושם ומביאה להזזה בדבר.
בברכה להסתדרות טובה בגשמיות וברוחניות גם יחד ולעבודה מתוך שמחה דוקא, והרי עבודת ה' היא משך כל הכ"ד שעות של המעל"ע (שצ"ל בכל דרכך דעהו וכפסק השו"ע או"ח סי' רל"א).

In response to your letter from Sunday, in which you write about the great responsibility placed on the heads of yeshivos regarding the difficulties in arranging proper livelihoods for yeshiva students, and you describe the challenges in obtaining a teaching position as well as a rabbinic post, where everyone acts as they see fit.
Indeed, regarding some of these issues, the situation with obtaining a teaching position has improved in recent years. In any case, this is not just a question for yeshivos alone but concerns the general state of Jewish life regarding Judaism. I am surprised that you do not raise this matter at gatherings of Orthodox organizations involved in such matters—gatherings of rabbis, meetings of Orthodox parties, and similar forums. Even though there is often a large gap between decisions made at such gatherings and their practical implementation, there is still benefit in discussing these issues to raise public awareness. In some places, this leads to improvement; after all, even for one Jewish soul it is worthwhile to make efforts and exert oneself.
On the point you write about rabbinic positions where everyone acts as they see fit: it would be appropriate to speak with several young rabbis who also feel this painful issue. However, each one complains privately, and it is difficult in America to voice an individual opinion. If they were to organize together and publicly express their protest, it would undoubtedly make an impression and bring about change.
Blessings for good arrangements both materially and spiritually together with work carried out specifically with joy. After all, serving Hashem encompasses all twenty-four hours of the day (as it should be: "In all your ways know Him," according to Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim section 231).
