Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter from the eve of Rosh Chodesh Nissan, in which you write about your son, the Avrech... sheyichyeh, who is being offered honorable matches but, as you wrote, does not wish to involve himself in shidduchim, claiming he wants to dedicate more time to Torah study without the burden of responsibility, etc.
It is understood that there is no place to force anyone to accept a particular shidduch proposal; on the other hand, it can be said that your son's claim stems from the fact that the proposals offered do not seem suitable to him according to his view. If something appropriate is suggested, his outlook on the matter may change. In any case, as explained in Hilchos Talmud Torah by Rabbeinu HaZaken and especially according to the custom of Jerusalem and your family, it is proper to energetically seek suitable proposals for your son sheyichyeh and present them to him. May it be G‑d's will that this be successful and that he continue learning Torah in purity—both Nigleh and Chassidus—even after his wedding and succeed.
With blessings for chassidishe nachas from all your children sheyichyu and for a kosher and joyous Pesach.
Summary
The Rebbe encourages parents not to force shidduch decisions but stresses actively seeking appropriate matches for their children. With the right proposal, perspectives may change. He blesses continued Torah study and a joyful Pesach.
