I was pleased to hear from Haraha"ch iy"a nu"n ba'al middos etc. Uriel Zimmer, who at my request visited your honor and spoke with you regarding spreading the study of Chassidus in those circles and environments where your influence reaches. Especially since during the conversation it was mentioned about your lineage and roots, which were connected—and certainly also attached—to our Rebbe, our leader, among them the Admor tzt"z. And holiness does not depart from its place; sons and grandsons merit beauty etc. and wisdom etc., and if this is so regarding physical beauty and wisdom, how much more so regarding spiritual beauty and wisdom—especially in studying their Torah which is eternal, about which it is said: 'Halo Ko Devari KaEsh' (Is not My word like fire), which purifies from all concealment even more than purification by water. As our sages say (Sanhedrin 39a): The main immersion is by fire.

And since we are at the end of the year and in just a short moment will enter a new year—based on what our Alter Rebbe writes in his Iggeres HaKodesh ch. 14: that every single year there descends and shines from Supernal Wisdom a new and renewed light that has never yet shone to the higher world etc., and to those below who receive their vitality from it—I come with a suggestion: It is most appropriate that this year be renewed specifically from Rosh Hashanah through education in learning Chassidus also publicly and in places accessible to many; that is, in synagogues, study halls, and yeshivos where you can have influence. For Torah in general is both the light and also the vessel for absorbing and uniting with the lights and influences from above. It is understood that if it were possible to begin even one day during 5716—how good and proper! For a day in a year counts as a year. I am certain that for your honor this elaboration is unnecessary.

May it be G‑d's will that through learning and spreading the wellsprings outward—which are preparation and vessel for what is written: 'And the earth shall be filled with knowledge of Hashem as waters cover the sea' (in Mashiach's Torah)—Mashiach will teach knowledge to all Israel—which will be incomparably greater than Torah now. As our sages say (Koheles Rabbah ch. 11 on 'for if many years...'), may this year be our true redemption.

As we approach the new year coming upon us and all Israel for good and blessing, I hereby express my blessing to you and all yours: Blessings for being inscribed and sealed for a good and sweet year materially and spiritually.

P.S. I understood from Reb Zimmer that there are matters with which you do not agree or perhaps even oppose etc., but certainly this should not be connected with bringing these things into action—not even delaying them for any amount of time—for it is known what Rambam says: 'Accept truth from whoever says it.' I am merely transmitting instructions of our leaders—the Baal Shem Tov and Alter Rebbe—who gave their lives for teaching Pnimiyus HaTorah (the inner dimension of Torah) and instructed their followers throughout Israel to do everything possible in this regard—and whoever has ability etc.

The Rebbe encourages using one's influence to spread Chassidus publicly as a way to draw down new spiritual light for the coming year, emphasizing continuity with past generations, unity through Torah study, overcoming disagreements for higher goals, and wishing blessings for a good year.
