I pleasantly received your letter and afterwards also your sefer of responsa Minchas Yitzchak. Thank you very much for this gift. Although the time does not allow me to study it with the depth it deserves, out of fondness for the matter I have quickly noted some comments, which are copied below in the margins.

And according to our Sages' saying—Ve'es Vahav B'Sufah... (and 'Ve'es Vahav at its conclusion'...) And as we approach Pesach, may it come upon us and all Israel for good and blessing, I bless you and myself with a kosher and joyous Pesach, and that the joy should extend throughout the entire year, in accordance with the teaching of the Arizal brought in the glosses to Shulchan Aruch: whoever is careful etc., it influences the whole year.

To Shu"t Siman 61 Seif Katan 1-2: Regarding whether when it is stated 'forbidden' without qualification—does this mean forbidden forever or only when explicitly stated as such? You referenced Kesef Mishneh and other sefarim. It would seem one must distinguish among those cited between the language of Sages in our Sages' sayings and legal rulings versus ordinary people's language. Also—whether one must remove from a status of permissibility; unclear. Perhaps this is discussed in the referenced sefarim, which are not currently at hand.

Siman 6-33: On a man's wife's sister and a yevamah to the marketplace: In Shu"t Mar'eh Kohen by Rabbi Sh"M Adler from London—third edition—there is an extensive discussion on this topic. He also quotes letters from great halachic authorities of our generation on this matter.

Siman 89: The practice in Beis HaRav—that is my father-in-law the Rebbe—according to his father's (the Rebbe Rashab) instruction and higher in holiness—is that (except for a door leading outside), mezuzah placement is determined only by the hinge side.
