לאחרי שתיקתו הארוכה נתקבל סו"ס[3] מכתבו מכ"ד חשון, ואף שאינו מזכיר עד"ז, הנה בטח התחילו בהכנות לימי חנוכה הבע"ל[4], הן כלפי פנים בשביל התלמידות וגם כלפי חוץ, כפי המנהג שהיו עורכים איזה ענין של פומבי, מזמינים ההורים של התלמידות וכו', שבטח גם בשנה זו אל יחסר המזג[5] ואדרבה יעלו בקדש[6] והשי"ת יצליחם.

Greetings and blessing!
After your long silence, your letter of 24 Cheshvan has finally been received. And although you make no mention of it, surely preparations have begun for the days of Chanukah, which are approaching for good, both inwardly, for the girl students, and also outwardly, as was the custom to arrange some public event, inviting the parents of the girl students, etc. Surely this year too "אל יחסר המזג" — "the mixed wine shall not be lacking" (Shir HaShirim 7:3) — and on the contrary, they will "ascend in holiness" ("מעלין בקדש" — Berachos 28a), and may G‑d, blessed be He, grant them success.
