Thank you for your letter from the fourth night of Chanukah, in which you write about the farbrengens during these auspicious days—the month of Kislev, the month of redemption. Even though this time you wrote briefly, surely you will elaborate next time, especially regarding the farbrengen with the yeshivah students. It is certainly unnecessary to remind you that a farbrengen accomplishes the work of plowing and sowing, but afterwards cultivation is also needed until the fruits grow and flourish greatly both in quantity and quality—and the lesson is clear.

Regarding what you wrote about sending certain printed materials to a particular rabbi to acquaint him with Chabad's approach, this is certainly very appropriate—indeed very much so. This too falls under spreading the wellsprings outward, at least as preparation for it. It would be proper for them to consult among themselves which books are suitable for his character and inform here; surely their request will be fulfilled.

On this occasion it is also worthwhile to inquire whether that person has published any books or pamphlets; if so, there is room for an exchange. This has an additional advantage: it becomes more precious in the eyes of the recipient since it was not given free of charge—Asya d'magen etc.—and this suffices for one who understands.
