כדאי שישווה מכתביו מ... ויראה בעליל עד כמה המ"ש[8] שלו אינה מיוסדת ופועלת נמיכת רוח, ובטח גם חסרון חיות בעבוה"ק[9]. ומזה ילמוד על להבא שבאם יבוא היצה"ר עוה"פ[10] ויפחידו איך יצא ידי חובתו וכו' וכו' - גם לא ישים לב אפילו לטו"מ[11] עמו, וינצל זמנו ומרצו בעבודתו בקדש קירוב לב בנ"י[12], לאבינו שבשמים, ומתוך שמחה דוקא. וכנ"ל.

It would be worthwhile for you to compare your letters from ..., and you will see plainly how unfounded your melancholy is, and how it brings on lowness of spirit, and surely also a lack of vitality in the holy work.
