Shalom u'Vrachah!

In response to your letter from the 15th of Cheshvan, it is completely puzzling why you have not written all this time. Even though during these six months you were supposed to be engaged in holy work in institutions whose purpose is to draw the hearts of Jewish sons and daughters closer to our Father in Heaven, it is clear and obvious how much interest there must be in this...

It is understood that this work must be a permanent commitment (and not as an experiment or learning process or as a temporary endeavor as perhaps you have done until now; if so, this would explain your lack of writing. If that is the case, it is truly astonishing and very surprising—especially considering what is stated at the end of chapter 25 in Tanya: 'And this union above is eternal forever,' and as is well known from the saying of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe: during the journeys in the desert—even on a journey that lasted only a day or night—they erected the Mishkan with all its details and precision just as they did for a journey where they stayed for eighteen years).

Regarding setting a wedding date, my opinion is that it should be moved up; how good it would be if it were in Kislev—the month of redemption—and nothing stands in the way of willpower.

Blessings that you choose your beautiful portion—for this is your gateway to all elevations from below to above and all drawing down from above to below—and may you do so with joy and gladness of heart.

Summary

The Rebbe urges ongoing commitment to communal work and recommends advancing significant milestones such as marriage. He emphasizes approaching these steps with joy and wholeheartedness for true spiritual elevation.
