במענה על מכתבו מט' חשון, בו כותב ומתאר מצב רוחו והתמרמרותו על זה, ואשר מחפש תשובה, ומסיים היש עוד תשובה?
והנה אין מקום לשאלה זו, וכפסק רז"ל שאין לך דבר העומד בפני התשובה, וכדמוכח גם ממה שתקנו אנשי כנסת הגדולה לכל אחד ואחד מישראל לומר בתפלתו השיבנו אליך ונשובה ותיכף אחר זה ברכת סלח לנו, וכל זה בשם ומלכות אף שאם הי' ספק ח"ו בדבר הרי ספק ברכות להקל וע"כ דאין כאן שום ספק כלל, וכמבואר כל זה באגרת התשובה לרבנו הזקן פרק י"א.
ומה שכותב איזו היא הדרך לתשובה, הנה גם זה פשוט שצריך להיות חרטה על העבר, והעיקר קבלה על להבא, והנהגה מתאימה לקבלה זו, וקיום במעשה - בועשה טוב אשר עליו לעשות ובסור מרע ממצות ד' אשר לא תעשינה, ובודאי לדעת את כל זה מובן שצריך ללמוד הלכות הצריכות בחיי היום יומים, ולחזור עליהם עד שהתלמוד יביא לידי מעשה, ולסייעתא דשמיא, הנה מוכרח שבכל יום אחר תפלת הבוקר יאמר איזה קאפּיטלעך תהלים, וכן יקבע שיעור בלימוד תורת החסידות המאירה דרך האדם בחיים, והשי"ת יצליחו.

In response to your letter from the 9th of Cheshvan, in which you describe your state of mind and your bitterness about it, and that you are searching for an answer, concluding with the question: Is there still Teshuvah?
There is no place for such a question, as our Sages ruled: nothing stands in the way of Teshuvah. This is also evident from the fact that the Men of the Great Assembly instituted for every Jew to say in his prayers 'Hashiveinu Elecha V'Nashuvah' (Bring us back to You and we will return), immediately followed by the blessing 'Selach Lanu' (Forgive us). All this is recited with G‑d's Name and sovereignty; if there were any doubt G‑d forbid about this matter, then due to doubt in blessings we would be lenient. Therefore, there is absolutely no doubt at all. All this is explained in detail in Iggeres HaTeshuvah by our master the Alter Rebbe, chapter 11.
As for your question about what is the path to Teshuvah: it is also simple—there must be regret over the past, but most importantly a firm resolution for the future and conduct that matches this resolution. This includes positive action—doing good deeds that one should do—and refraining from evil by avoiding what G‑d has forbidden. Certainly, knowing all this means one must study those halachos necessary for daily life and review them until learning leads to action.
With help from Heaven, it is essential that every day after morning prayers you say several chapters of Tehillim. Also establish a set time to study Chassidus, which illuminates a person's path in life. May Hashem grant you success.
