במענה על שאלתו במכתבו מכ' סיון ... בודאי ידוע לו אשר כשאיש ישראל אחד רוצה להתקשר עם איש ישראל השני, אשר באמת הכרח הוא, כי זהו תוכן המצוה דאהבת ישראל, וכמבואר בספר המצות לאדמו"ר הצמח צדק בפירוש מצוה זו, וכלשון רבנו הזקן ריש פרק ל"ב שכולם מתאימות ואב אחד לכולנו, הדרך הכי קרובה כשנמצאים בריחוק מקום הוא ללמוד באותם הענינים בתורה, וכמבואר בתניא ריש פרק ה' ולהשפיע גם על זולתו בזה כי הרי מדתו של הקב"ה מדה כנגד מדה.
בודאי שומר שלשת השיעורים השוים לכל נפש מתקנת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע בחומש תהלים ותניא הידועים אשר גם זה שייך להנ"ל.

In response to your question in your letter from the 20th of Sivan...
It is certainly known to you that when one Jew wishes to connect with another Jew—which is truly necessary, as this is the essence of the mitzvah of Ahavas Yisrael, as explained in Sefer HaMitzvos by Admor tzt"z in his interpretation of this mitzvah, and as stated by our master the Alter Rebbe at the beginning of chapter 32 (of Tanya) that all are equal and we all have one Father—the closest way when physically distant is to study the same subjects in Torah. This is explained at the beginning of chapter 5 in Tanya. One should also influence others in this matter because G‑d's attribute is measure for measure.
Certainly you keep the three daily study portions established by my revered father-in-law, Admor zatzukal nbg"m zya"a: Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya—the well-known ones—which also relates to what was mentioned above.

Summary
