I was pleased to receive the telegram about your safe arrival home, as well as the regards Dr. Mindel conveyed to me from the letter he received from you. Surely you found your family well and at peace, and also conveyed regards to all Anash, as well as to your brother, as we discussed.
When one plants a seed in a Jewish heart—Jews being called 'Eretz Chefetz' (a desirable land)—it will ultimately bear fruit, even if it is sometimes hard to predict how long it will take. As it is written: 'Levilti Yidach Mimenu Nidach' (so that no one be banished or cast away). Especially since the merit of doing good for Jews prevents one from drowning in materialism; whether willingly or not, this (even if it begins unwillingly) draws one toward true goodness—and there is no good except Torah and fulfillment of its mitzvos.
Just as you are, thank G‑d, successful in other matters, we should hope that you will also have success in this area. Of course, you may tell him this in my name if you find it necessary. It is well known—even among secular scientists—that nothing is ever truly lost or destroyed if it has existence (substance). If this is so materially (physically), how much more so does this apply to spiritual matters—such as the education and preparation parents instill in their children.
