Shalom u'Vrachah!

I was surprised that I had not received any news from you for such a long time since we last met, and I was saddened to receive now a report that your health is not as it should be. As you requested, I will mention you at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, for complete health—both physical and spiritual together.

If I recall correctly, during our conversation we also touched upon a point that is one of the foundations of the Baal Shem Tov's approach: 'Serve Hashem with joy.' It is already well known from the great teacher Rambam in Hilchos Deos that one serves Hashem not only during prayer or Torah study but also in worldly matters. Therefore, this service is required even while eating and together with eating, while walking and together with walking, etc. And since no one is asked more than their ability allows, each of us can be certain that we are given the strength to fulfill this holy and pleasant service completely.

Additionally, by reflecting on this—not like the view of idol worshipers who believe His honor is only in heaven and exalted above all nations—but rather He watches over each individual in their daily life, even in those details called by people 'gray' or 'small,' there is truly no reason for any worry whatsoever. It is like a child next to his father—even though for the child the father is all-powerful only in his imagination; but in our case, our Father in Heaven is truly all-powerful.

I await good news that you are feeling well. As my revered father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal would often say: 'He should have a healthy and joyful summer.'

Summary

The Rebbe teaches that serving Hashem with joy applies to every aspect of life. Trusting in Divine Providence brings peace of mind even in small daily matters; we are given strength for this uplifting service when we reflect on G‑d’s constant care.
