Shalom u'Vrachah!

... May it be His will that the days of trust and days of faith in Hashem and in Moshe His servant will affect each one of us to be strong in our faith in the hispashtusa d’Moshe (the expansion of Moshe) that exists in every generation—in our generation this is my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory— and not just a superficial faith that does not impact practical matters at all, but a faith that leads to action: to defend the institutions and matters of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe, with the necessary and essential strength. Then surely all obstacles will melt like wax and Bnei Yisrael will go out with an upraised hand. Blessings for a kosher and joyous Pesach.

... Regarding your comment on what is written at the end of Iggeres HaKodesh section 12—that Israel are by nature merciful and doers of kindness because their souls are drawn from His attributes, etc.—and in Tanya at the end of chapter 1 it is written that these traits come from their animal soul. It is understood that both are true: from the G‑dly soul within Israel comes natural mercy and kindness because it is drawn from His attributes; also, their animal soul has this nature. It is possible that within Israel, the animal soul is a mixture of good and bad. Further explanation can be added based on what is explained elsewhere in Chassidus: that the animal soul within Israel becomes refined and has a connection to the G‑dly soul within Israel; therefore even within it, mercy and kindness prevail—even though obviously it also contains opposite traits—because simply saying it is a mixture of good and bad does not fully explain why even the animal soul within Israel tends toward mercy and kindness. This may explain why only at the end of chapter 1 does Tanya add "in their offspring," since the G‑dly soul comes later (see Shulchan Aruch HaRav Mahadura Tinyana at end).

Summary

The letter teaches us to strengthen our practical faith in the Rebbe as Moshe's extension in our time, ensuring this belief leads to real action supporting his institutions. It also deepens our understanding of Jewish compassion as rooted in both souls.
