במענה על מכתבו מא' כסלו. אין להתפעל ממה שלא כל אלו שהבטיחו לבוא לשיעור תורה באים, וכבר ידוע פסק רז"ל (ברכות ה' ע"א) אשר שלשה דברים באים ע"י יסורים ואחד מהם תורה, אבל חזקה לתעמולה שאינה חוזרת ריקם ובתעמולה המתאימה בודאי יתרבו המשתתפים בשיעורים.
בודאי למותר לעוררו על ההכנה המתאימה ליום הבהיר י"ט כסלו הוא יום גאולתנו ופדות נפשנו, היציאה לחפשי של רבנו הזקן ואתו עמו נצחון תורת החסידות הכללית ותורת חב"ד. וכיון שההשגחה עליונה הביאתו למקום שהוא לע"ע אחד מחסידי חב"ד עליו גם למלאות התפקיד דהפצת המעיינות חוצה. ובודאי נודע לו האמור מהבעש"ט שזהו הכנה וכלי לגאולת כל ישראל גאולה השלימה והאמיתית. ויה"ר שתהי' ההתועדות בהצלחה ובקבלת החלטות טובות מר"ה לחסידות על כל השנה כולה.

In response to your letter from the 1st of Kislev.
One should not be discouraged if not everyone who promised to attend the Torah class actually comes. It is already known from our Sages (Berachos 5a) that three things come through suffering, and one of them is Torah. However, it is certain that efforts in outreach do not return empty-handed, and with appropriate outreach, surely more participants will join the classes.
It is certainly unnecessary to remind you about proper preparation for the bright day of Yud Tes Kislev, our day of redemption and the liberation of our souls—the release of Rabbeinu HaZaken and with him the victory of general Chassidus and Chabad Chassidus. Since Divine Providence has brought you to a place where you are currently one of the Chabad chassidim, you must also fulfill the role of spreading the wellsprings outward.
Surely you have heard what was said by the Baal Shem Tov—that this is a preparation and vessel for the complete and true redemption of all Israel.
May it be His will that the farbrengen be successful and lead to good resolutions as a Rosh Hashanah for Chassidus for the entire year.
