הנה ידועה שיחת כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע בענין הברכה שהיא בדוגמת הגשם, שכמו שהגשם מצמיח כשיש חרישה וזריעה, כן הוא גם בברכה שמקבל הברכה צריך לעשות החרישה בעצמו, היינו לב נשבר ונדכה על ידי התבוננות בגדלות הבורא ית' שבמילא מביא לידי הכרה בשפלות האדם (יעויין בפירוש תר"י בברכות ריש פרק אין עומדין, והובא לפסק הלכה בהגהות הרמ"א שו"ע או"ח סי' צ"ח סוף סעיף א') וזריעה ע"י נתינת הצדקה לפני התפלה והידור במצות אשר אז הברכה מביאה הצלחה וכמה שנאמר בפרשת ברכות יצחק, אשר אפילו בארץ היא ובשנה ההיא הנה מצא מאה שערים וכפירוש התרגום ורז"ל על חד מאה בדשערוהי.
ובטח למותר להעירם בההכרח הגמור דלימוד פנימיות התורה ובפרט בדורותינו אלה אשר הודיענו עיר וקדיש משמיא נחית הוא האר"י החי שמצוה לגלות זו החכמה ובפרט לאברכים יושבי אהל ועוסקים בתורה והשי"ת יצליחם.

In response to your letter requesting prayers on your behalf: It is well known the talk of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal, regarding blessing being similar to rain. Just as rain causes growth only when there has been plowing and sowing, so too with blessing—the recipient must do the "plowing" himself, meaning a broken and humble heart through contemplation on the greatness of the Creator (see Turei Zahav's commentary at the beginning of Berachos chapter Ein Omdin, also cited as halachah in Rema's glosses to Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim 98:1), and "sowing" by giving charity before prayer and beautifying mitzvos. Then the blessing brings success, as it says in the parsha about Yitzchak's blessings—even in that land and that year he found a hundredfold yield, as explained by Targum and our Sages on "one hundred in his gate."
It is surely unnecessary to point out to you the absolute necessity of studying Pnimiyus HaTorah—especially in our generation—about which Ir v'Kaddish descended from Heaven (the Ari HaChai) informed us that it is a mitzvah to reveal this wisdom. This applies particularly to Avrechim who dwell in tents and engage in Torah study. May Hashem grant you success.
