...אקוה אשר למותר לעוררו שביום א' כ"ד טבת הבע"ל הוא יום ההילולא של כ"ק אדמו"ר רבינו הזקן, בעל התניא והשולחן ערוך אשר במילא זהו יום זכאי להצלחה הן בענינים הנמצאים בתורת החסידות והן בענינים הנמצאים בתורת הנגלה, ומגלגלין זכות ליום זכאי לעשות התועדות, א ווארימען פארבריינגען ולהתחזק בהחלטות טובות באהבת ישראל אהבת התורה ואהבת השם, וזכות ביחוד בזה לכהנים שלהם נמסר מצות ברכת ישראל וברכה מתוך אהבת ישראל וכנוסח הברכה לברך את עמו ישראל באהבה (שו"ע בעל ההילולא סקכ"ח סי"ט) ולהמשיך בהמתברכים אה"י[1](זכרונות ע' שמג[2]).
בברכה לבריאות הנכונה לו ולזוגתו שיחיו ולהצלחה בעניניהם הכלליים והפרטיים.

...I hope it is unnecessary to remind you that on Sunday, the upcoming 24th of Teves is the yahrzeit of our master the Alter Rebbe, author of the Tanya and Shulchan Aruch. Therefore, it is an auspicious day for success both in matters found in Chassidus and in matters found in Nigleh (revealed Torah). Merit is brought about on a meritorious day to hold a gathering—a warm farbrengen—and to strengthen good resolutions in Ahavas Yisrael (love of fellow Jews), love of Torah, and love of Hashem. There is a special merit for Kohanim to whom the mitzvah of blessing Israel was entrusted—to bless with Ahavas Yisrael and as the wording of the blessing states: "to bless His people Israel with love" (Shulchan Aruch by the one whose yahrzeit it is [the Alter Rebbe], section 128:19), and to draw down blessings upon those being blessed through Ahavas Yisrael [1] (Zichronos p. 243 [2]).
With blessings for proper health for him and his wife sheyichyu, and for success in their general and personal matters.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that gathering together warmly on auspicious days like the Alter Rebbe's yahrzeit strengthens our commitment to Ahavas Yisrael, Torah study, and love of Hashem. Kohanim especially should channel this love when blessing others.
