Accuracy – Chassidic stories and teachings

דיוק – סיפורי חסידים ותורות
The Rebbe valued Chassidic stories but asked that they be told responsibly. Cite the source, name who told the story and how reliable he is, and add notes where needed so the story is not misunderstood, especially stories about the Rebbeim. Publishing such material is a privilege and a great responsibility. He accepted that stories passed on by word of mouth pick up minor differences, and said the main message matters more than small details. Teachings of the Baal Shem Tov and other tzaddikim should likewise be quoted precisely.
