מכתבו מיום ח' אדר ב' הגיעני וכן הקודמים. ותודה רבה על שימת לבבו להביא לידיעתי המאורעות והאירועים אודותם כותב. ובודאי גם להבא יעשה כן ותודה מראש.
לגופו של ענין קשה להביע דעת לאמיתתו של דבר, כיון שמכל ענין וענין הרי הנוגעים בדבר תיכף ומיד עושים עיסקה ומבצע וכו' ועד כדי חוסר כל בושה, ולדוגמא בענינים שכותב אשר דוקא הקובעים את קו הפעולה אינם בושים מלומר גלוי שמוכרחים להיכנס לעיסקה עמהם באם רוצים שיוותרו בענין

- חרפה שלא היתה כמוה אפילו בהנהגתם של ד' וה' האישים האמורים, אף שכבר הכינו הבסיס להכחיש בתוקף בנוסח הידוע לא היו דברים מעולם,

חכמינו ז"ל הטוען (א) לא לויתי (ב) לויתי ופרעתי (ג) אני הייתי המלוה ולי צריך לשלם ההלואה.
כן מתחילה הכריזו שחוק השבות לכל פרטיו הוא הישג דתי נפלא, ואחרי כן הכריזו שמעולם לא היתה
החלטה מהרבנות הראשית
בזה וכו' וכו', ועד לההצהרה האחרונה כאן ודוקא בעמוד ראשון של העתונות שמעולם לא נתקבלה ההחלטה על דבר גיוס בני הישיבות. ואין פוצה פה ומצפצף. וכמובן ממשיכים לעמוד בראש וראשונה בכל הפעולות ובעיקר כולל חלוקת הכספים והמשרות והכיבודים וכו'.
וכפי שאמרתי כמה פעמים אולי הלימוד זכות עליהם הוא שרואים שהנהגתם האמורה בכל בעי' העומדת על הפרק היא תמיד בכיוון אחד העלול לגרום ח"ו להירוס עם ישראל תורת ישראל וארץ ישראל ואף על פי כן איתן מושבם והם העומדים ראשונה וקובעים את הקו, וכל אלו שאומרים שלא יודו ולא יסכימו וכו' הרי כשבא הדבר לפועל מתחננים אצלם שיתנו גם להם חלק מהכיבודים וכו' ומבטיחים להם מקומם בראש הרשימה לבחירות הכנסת והמוסדות, אף יכריזו עליהם בפה מלא שהם הם המנהיגים האחראיים והמדריכים האמיתיים השומרים על דתנו וכו' וכו'. ואין להאריך בדבר המבהיל.
וכיון שעומדים אנו בין נס לנס, בין נס דפורים לנס דחג הפסח, יהי רצון שנזכה גם אנו לראות נסים בפועל בכל הענינים האמורים, אף דאכתי עבדי דאחשורוש אנן (מגילה יד,א).
בכבוד ובברכה אשר סוף סוף יתחיל לבשר בשורות טובות.

Your letter from the 8th of Adar II has reached me, as well as your previous ones. Thank you very much for your attention in bringing to my knowledge the events and occurrences about which you write. Certainly you will continue to do so in the future; thank you in advance.
Regarding the matter itself, it is difficult to express an opinion on the truth of the situation, since with every issue those involved immediately make deals and arrangements, even to the point of shamelessness. For example: in matters you mention, those who set policy are not ashamed to openly say that one must make a deal with them—if you want them to concede on the draft of yeshiva students, then you must concede to them on the 'Who is a Jew' issue—a disgrace unprecedented even among the leadership of those four or five individuals mentioned. Even though they have already prepared their usual denials—claiming (a) it never happened; (b) it happened but was repaid; (c) I was actually the lender and am owed repayment. So at first they declared that the Law of Return in all its details was a wonderful religious achievement; afterwards they claimed there was never any decision from the Chief Rabbinate on this matter; and now their latest declaration here—specifically on the front page of the newspapers—is that there was never any decision regarding drafting yeshiva students. And no one says a word or protests.
Of course, they continue to stand at the forefront of all activities—especially when it comes to distributing funds, positions, honors, etc. As I have said many times before: perhaps their only merit is that their conduct on every pressing issue is always in one direction—that which could lead to harm for Am Yisrael (the Jewish people), Torat Yisrael (the Torah), and Eretz Yisrael (the Land of Israel). Yet still they remain firmly seated at the top and set policy. And all those who claim they will not agree or concede—when it comes down to action—they beg these same people for a share in honors and promise them top spots on election lists for Knesset and institutions. They even publicly declare that these are the true responsible leaders who safeguard our faith.
There is no need to elaborate further on this alarming matter.
And since we now stand between miracle and miracle—from Purim's miracle to that of Pesach—may it be G‑d's will that we too merit seeing actual miracles in all these matters, even though "we are still servants of Achashverosh" (Megillah 14a).
With honor and blessing—that ultimately you will begin sharing good news.
