10104 —על קבלת שכר חד פעמי והמשך עבודה בלונדון

On Accepting a One-Time Compensation and Remaining in London Employment

אדר, ה'תשל"א
The Rebbe writes that since effort and time were already invested, a one-time compensation is appropriate. However, if the recipient now has a job in London that provides sufficient livelihood, he should remain there and not leave for speculative opportunities in Los Angeles.

Shalom u'Vrachah!

Since you have already invested effort and time, etc., and with special interest—even though, as I have written, I do not have the time to be involved in this—there should be a one-time compensation for lost time.

If, as you wrote in your previous note, you now have a job in London that provides your livelihood and more (a bit extra), you should continue in London. All the arguments regarding Los Angeles are only speculation, and one should not leave a livelihood that has finally been secured for this.

Summary

The Rebbe advises accepting a one-time compensation for past efforts but emphasizes the importance of maintaining stable employment rather than pursuing uncertain opportunities elsewhere.
