I acknowledge receipt of your letter... I express my strong hope that during these auspicious days—the days of redemption Yud-Beis–Yud-Gimmel Tammuz of the Baal HaGeulah—as well as in the days before and after them, there will be a remembrance as is fitting for the parshah of redemption, the parshah of the imprisonment that preceded it, and the parshah of the causes that led to them. This remembrance should bring contemplation; contemplation and study of these parshiyos should lead to action—practical deeds in activities that are the foundation and inner meaning of these parshiyos: spreading Judaism, Torah (both revealed and inner dimensions), and its mitzvos—even to the point where one's entire being (his will and all his matters) is involved with true expansiveness. For even when the promise is fully realized: 'Pachadchem u'Mora'achem yiten Hashem...' ("Your fear and dread shall G‑d place..."), it is necessary to always have firmly fixed in one's heart the idea of mesiras nefesh for Hashem—to stand strong against any obstacle or hindrance, enemy or adversary—whether from outside or within—and to be confident that ultimately all obstacles will be nullified and activities will succeed ever more brightly. Also, those involved in this work—day workers who make things bright—will continually increase until they are beyond count—until the fulfillment of the prophecy: 'Ki tarbeh ha'da'as ve'ha'chachmah ve'ha'emes u'male'ah ha'aretz de'ah es Hashem' ("For knowledge, wisdom, and truth will increase and the earth will be filled with knowledge of Hashem") in our imminent true and complete redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu.

To your note: 1) In Shaar HaYichud chapter [reference], what is meant by this addition? Also Chazal called it etc.—it seems regarding what is written it is explained according to [reference] in Rambam Hilchos Yesodei HaTorah ch. 1 halachah 9. 2) In Ch. [reference] as well as a clear verse etc.—this refers to the general matter (that joy should be present).

May he—and his friends in Chevron—grow in Torah (both revealed and Chassidus) and prayer with fervor in Ir HaAvos (the City of our Forefathers), so that through this they establish its spiritual conquest; as written above this is also the way to nullify internal obstacles to its permanent conquest (for external pressures are nothing but "the sound of a rustling leaf"). After all, we are nearing the end of our exile—the exile of our brethren both here and abroad.

As for why I am writing now—it was delayed recently due to circumstances. I acknowledge receipt of your notes from past times. May you continue with strength! And a double request—for the future—to increase even more; do not be concerned at all about lack of approval from here (due to distractions etc.)—for "the reward for a mitzvah is a mitzvah."

P.S.: Your letter was received on Erev Shabbos Kodesh; may it be read at an auspicious time at Tziyun Kodesh. It is surprising that in all your letters you do not mention anything about arranging matters for "the distinguished Avrech... sh'yichyeh," especially regarding "the bachur sh'yichyeh from England" (which depends on providing his needs—removing his worries).

Based on all above it is understood there is no place for withdrawing from matters connected with Baal HaGeulah; quite the contrary. Regarding our home—based on advice from friends locally (especially since changes are occurring etc.).
