המכתב שלכן הגיע לידי וגרם לי עונג רב, והשם יתרך ימלא משאלות לבבכן לטובה להצליח בלימוד התורה, הנקראת תורת חיים, כי היא הוראה בחיי היום-יום ומקור הברכה לחיים טובים באמת.
בודאי יודעות אתן על דבר חג השבועות, זמן מתן תורתנו, וגם שמעתן אשר התורה ניתנה רק אחרי שכל ישראל אמרו "בנינו (לרבות בנותינו) ערבים בעדינו". זאת אומרת, שבזכות בני ובנות ישראל ניתנה התורה לכל ישראל. מזה מובן כמה חשוב הוא לילדי ישראל להתנהג על פי מצוות והוראות התורה, ולראש ולראשונה בכיבוד הורים ומורים ובהתמדה ושקידה בלימודים. והנני מקוה שכל אחת מכן תהי' דוגמא חי' של בת ישראל, בת אמותינו שרה רבקה רחל ולאה.

Your letter reached me and brought me great pleasure. May Hashem fulfill the wishes of your hearts for good, granting you success in learning Torah—which is called the Torah of Life—because it is guidance for daily living and a source of blessing for truly good lives.
Surely you know about the festival of Shavuot, the time of the giving of our Torah, and you have also heard that the Torah was given only after all Israel said: "Banenu (including our daughters) are guarantors for us." This means that it was in the merit of the sons and daughters of Israel that the Torah was given to all Israel.
From this it is understood how important it is for Jewish children to behave according to the commandments and instructions of the Torah—first and foremost in honoring parents and teachers, and in diligence and perseverance in studies.
I hope that each one of you will be a living example of a Jewish daughter—a daughter like our mothers Sarah, Rivkah, Rachel, and Leah.
