קבלתי ידיעה כללית ממר דובער שי' מינדל על ידי אחיו מזכירי מר ניסן שי' בנוגע השתדלותם להוציא בני משפחתם שי' ממדינתינו לפנים, ואשר פנה לכ' לעזור בזה באופן אישי.
ואף שבודאי לא נצרך כ' לזירוז בענין של אהבת ישראל ועשית טובה בכלל, ועל אחת כמה וכמה בענין כזה להוציא אסירים בכושרות, שכל המדינה ההיא ה"ה בית אסורים גדול (ה' ירחם), אבל בהכירי את בני המשפחה אביע בזה גודל קורת רוחי שמשתתף בפעולה של פדיון שבויים האמורה. ויהי רצון שגם בפעולה זו יקויים מה שנאמר וברכך ה"א בכל אשר תעשה.

I received general information from Mr. Dovber Mindel through his brother, my secretary Mr. Nissan, regarding your efforts to help your family members leave our former country, and that he turned to you for personal assistance in this matter.
Although you certainly do not need encouragement when it comes to Ahavas Yisrael and doing good in general—and all the more so in such a matter as rescuing captives from bondage, since that entire country is essentially one large prison (may Hashem have mercy)—knowing your family, I wish to express my great satisfaction that you are participating in this act of redeeming captives.
May it be G‑d's will that also in this effort it will be fulfilled as it is written: "And Hashem your G‑d will bless you in all that you do."
